Nightlife on Samui

Koh Samui's nightlife has something for everyone.

Whatever your preferences for the perfect night out, Samui can definitely deliver. Traditionally the resort areas of Chaweng and Lamai have been the place where everyone heads to when the sun goes down and beginning from dusk you can stroll along the main strips and take your pick from hundreds of venues for drinks, dining, and live music.

Both these areas have a varied and vibrant nightlife to cater for every taste and you can certainly party until the early hours.

But Samui is far more than just these two resorts. Over the years the island has evolved and it now stands proudly as one of the world's finest high-end holiday destinations. Samui now has different levels of nightlife to cater for the most private individuals and all the way through to the most hedonistic.

There's an emerging scene on Samui that's far more sophisticated than many would think. QBar, The Art Palace, Bar Solo, Mambo Club, Pangea, Padma, Pod Bar, The Cliff, and ESP are just a few of the trendier places to be seen around the island.

As a resort area Bophut offers a more cosmopolitan atmosphere than Chaweng or Lamai with a host of relaxed Mediterranean restaurants and a more subtle nightlife scene.

The resort of Maenam is becoming increasingly popular with a good choice of bars and restaurants. Bang Rak and Choeng Mon also offer a fairly lively night out. So, as you can see, the nighttime entertainment is no longer restricted to just Chaweng and Lamai, you can now visit other areas and enjoy what they have to offer for a great night out.

One consistency you'll find is that the nighttime ambience in all Samui's entertainment areas is as relaxed and comfortable as you will experience anywhere. Common sense prevails but on the whole the island is an exceptionally safe place to shake off the stresses of everyday life and have a fantastic fun-filled holiday.
