Low Carbon School Project.

As part of the Jultamart Green Project, Faraway Weddings attended Bandonthup School in Lipa Noi. The visit was arranged to celebrate the opening of the school’s very own recycling plant which was constructed by the staff of Faraway Weddings and Montien House hotel.

It was an exceptional day with the children and their parents being given fun and educational environmental advice by Faraway and Montien House staff as well as from the teachers.

Prizes such as pens, notebooks, games, toys, sweets and crisps were provided by Faraway Weddings and used as prizes for the children to win during a number of high-energy and challenging games.

The purpose built recycling area was officially opened by the headmaster and a promise was made by him and all of the pupils that every effort will be made to ensure that the recycling is something which is a long term commitment.

Everyone from the Faraway team joined in the day and had a great time.

Website updated

The Faraway website has been recently updated to include details of the changes to the Faraway Villa.

Included are panoramics photos and 360 degree interacitive flash presentations of the gardens and beach as well as a floor plan and new villa description.

New services to be introduced.

Due to an increase in demand for booking accommodation and also arranging post wedding activities, Faraway Weddings will soon be offering an alternative service, Faraway Honeymoons.

Well, if you trust Faraway to arrange your perfect wedding, why not let them plan a honeymoon itinerary too.

Faraway Honeymoons will be a stand-alone service available to both wedding and non-wedding couples.

Improvements at Faraway Villa

The most recent villa renovations include transforming the bride’s room from a bedroom into an en-suite changing room for the bridal party. There’s a new bathroom and hair and make-up stations allowing for several people to get ready at the same time. This makes the room a much more usable and practical preparation space.

The next alteration comes in the form of a flexible air-conditioned indoor function room with bar, which can seat up to 50 guests for dining and can be used to offer an alternative to a garden reception in times of rain or to escape the heat.

Plans are in place to add more toilets to the villa in May 2010 and in October a new bar will be created to improve the facilities further.

Faraway to visit UK again

Yes, faraway Weddings will be attending the National Wedding Show at Earls Court and the NEC in October 2010. This will allow existing customers to make appointments to come and meet the team and get a feel for their future Faraway Wedding Experience.

Faraway Weddings is off to the National Wedding Show!!!

Faraway Weddings officially confirms its attendance at the National Wedding Show in the United Kingdom. We're very excited as this is our first time at the show and we will be showcasing at London's Earls Court on the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th October. Then we're off to the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham on the 9th, 10th and 11th October 2009.

The National Wedding Show is the most popular wedding show in the UK and we're proud to be the only participant from Thailand and are looking forward to promoting Koh Samui as the perfect wedding destination.

Temple cleaning at Wat Leam Suwanaram

As part of our endeavour to give back to our community, the Faraway wedding team organised a temple clean up at Plai Laem, Koh Samui. This was an extremely rewarding and successful day for all of us as we concentrated on cleaning all areas to help clean and tidy the temple grounds. We were also assisted by some of our vendors and suppliers such as Kireewong Foto, Samui Channel, Krit Florist and the Pi Ta Thai Dance Company.

A substantial amount of good work was carried out by everyone including the removal of all rubbish, tidying the gardens and clearing the messy pathways, cutting and clearing the overgrown areas and communal areas of weeds and rubbish. We also rearranged the seating areas to allow better access and a more practical layout and removed the leftover building materials from the recent construction work.

To assist with the clean up, Faraway had made dustpans out of recycled materials - this was then which then donated to the temple along with many garden brooms.

This was the first project that we've carried out in this manner and now each month we're looking to find a project which will benefit the local community and the environment.

First Aid and Basic Life Support course

All Faraway Wedding employees attended a basic first aid training course organised by the Bangkok Samui Hospital. Each member of staff who completed the course then received a appreciation certificate stating that they have been trained in first aid and basic life support.
